market focus

Our focus is on people with walking difficulties, particularly elderly people.

They often have stairs inside their home, as well as steps at the entry, which prevent them from moving freely, inside or outside their own home.

By enabling people to conquer stairs, Orbilift restores agency, which is the key to better all-round health.

People who are supported to live at home independently, enjoy better health than people who move to institutionalised care.

In turn, these people stay active in the community and contribute to their local economy.

market analysis

The following trends, support Orbilift's introduction to market:

Ageing population in developed nations.

Growing shortage of healthcare workers.

Societal wealth imbalance, favouring the elderly - particularly asset-rich "Boomers" aged 65+.

Elderly living at home, achieving better quality of life than those in aged-care institutions.

The confluence of
ageing population and decreasing workforce, means there will be huge, unmet demand for home-support services.

direct purchase

Boomers, who are now getting older, will need assistive tech to stay living independently and maintain quality of life.

They have amassed more wealth than any previous generation. More than half of US wealth - $78 trillion USD - belongs to Boomers.

Many can afford high quality, assistive technology.

To this customer segment, Orbilift represents a desirable,
lifestyle product, acquirable by direct purchase.

accessibility as a service

Some customers may continue to use a conventional mobility scooter, for their everyday needs. Then hire Orbilift for special occasions.

A taxi can deliver Orbilift to the customer, who pays for its use, by the hour.

This business model provides
accessibility as a service. It delivers accessibility on demand.

Customers gain access to multiple buildings, within a serviced region.

This not only benefits the customer, it benefits building owners, whose buildings gain in utility and value.

revenue streams

Orbilift has five main revenue streams:

Direct Purchase by end users.

Pay by the Hour under an Accessibility-as-a-Service model.

Building Owners purchase a service subscription, to provide access for tenants and visitors - thereby fulfilling statutory obligations related to Equitable Access.

Employers purchase a service subscription, to provide access for staff and customers - thereby fulfilling statutory obligations related to Equal Opportunity.

Governments purchase travel vouchers, in bulk, for pensioners and war veterans.

With our collaborating partners and investors, we aim to grow and secure all five revenue streams.

Projected serviceable obtainable market:
Elderly sector + Disability sector
23.1B + 7.2B = $30.3B USD p.a.

conclusion

To conclude this website, I am sharing a true story. It happened in December 2019, at the apartments, where I live.

My elderly neighbour cannot walk and relies on a wheelchair. The elevator broke, so she was stuck downstairs, in the lobby, for 4 hours.

Lucky her daughter brought her food and water.

I post two screen-shots from my iphone, so you can follow the story. Hope it shows that we, as a society, need to do better.
